…according to a recent letter from Drew Hendry – 97.7% of his constituents that responded to his survey oppose STS. Maybe that’s why the CFPA have not responded to our suggestion that they hold a referendum? Here’s what Drew said – good to have him supporting his constituents:
Dear Cromarty Rising,
Thank you for getting in touch to share your views. I agree that the perceived economic benefits do not outweigh potential negative implications that a granted licence could have on the entire area. I welcome the decision to ask the CFPA to withdraw its current application.
Prior to the withdrawal of the current application, I wrote to the MCA, the Secretary of State for Transport and to statutory consultees to highlight the significant opposition to proposals. I also conducted a recent survey of constituents, and of nearly 500 responses, 97.7% are opposed to the application. I have raised the matter in recent debates and I was very happy to secure agreement from the MCA that Scottish Government will now be formally consulted on any future proposals.
You will see from the article below, the First Minister also remains unconvinced on the merits of this licence application.
I will keep my website updated with responses and activities relating to Ship to Ship Transfers in the Moray Firth.

Thanks again for getting in touch.
Best wishes,
